Join Me at the Verde Valley Comic Expo for a Day of Creativity and Fun!

Are you ready for an action-packed day filled with comics, creativity, and family-friendly fun? Mark your calendars for the Verde Valley Comic Expo on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, at the Cottonwood Recreation Center in Cottonwood, AZ! This incredible event is a must-attend for fans of comics, art, and storytelling, and I’ll be there all day sharing my passion for drawing and creativity with kids and families.

Find Me in the Exhibit Hall! (10 AM – 4 PM)

Throughout the event, I’ll have a table in the exhibit hall filled with my collection of fun and engaging art books for kids! Whether your child loves step-by-step drawing guides, tracing and coloring books, or grid-based drawing activities, my books are designed to help young artists build confidence and develop their drawing skills in a fun and approachable way.

Don’t Miss the Shape Drawing Challenge! (11 AM)

One of the highlights of the day will be my special Shape Drawing Challenge at 11 AM! This interactive event is inspired by my book, Shape Drawing Challenge, and is designed to get kids thinking outside the box and having fun with their creativity.

In this challenge, I’ll demonstrate how to turn simple shapes into wild, wacky, and totally unique drawings. Kids will get to follow along, using their imaginations to transform basic shapes into their own original characters, creatures, and objects. Whether your child is an aspiring artist or just loves to doodle, this activity is sure to spark their creativity and keep them entertained!

All proceeds from the event go to the Cottonwood Bookmarks, Friends of the Library, to help support the Cottonwood Public Library’s Summer Reading Programs. Meet The Author & Artist

Kevin Coulston is an accomplished cartoonist, animator, and writer. He is the author and illustrator of over 70 (and still counting) children’s drawing books available here on FirstArtBooks.com. Kevin has also authored numerous kid-friendly comic book series, including “Dylan McVillain: A Super Villain with the Best Intentions” and “The Adventures of a 4th Grade Space Captain,” along with the Children’s Picture Book series “Alexis and the T-Rexes.”

Over a decade and a half since his initial published work, Kevin is now dedicating himself to inspiring the next generation of illustrators with his “How To Draw,” “Trace Then Color,” and “Draw by Grid” series of art books.
